GOSPEL: John 17:1-11
After saying this, Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said: Father, the hour has come: glorify your Son so that your Son may glorify you; so that, just as you have given him power over all humanity, he may give eternal life to all those you have entrusted to him. And eternal life is this: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I have glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do. Now, Father, glorify me with that glory I had with you before ever the world existed. I have revealed your name to those whom you took from the world to give me. They were yours and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now at last they have recognised that all you have given me comes from you for I have given them the teaching you gave to me, and they have indeed accepted it and know for certain that I came from you, and have believed that it was you who sent me. It is for them that I pray. I am not praying for the world but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. All I have is yours and all you have is mine, and in them I am glorified. I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep those you have given me true to your name, so that they may be one like us.
REFLECTION
“I have made your name known to those whom you gave me.” What powerful words and what a wondrous gift Jesus gave to his disciples! Take a moment and think back to your childhood. Who was it that introduced you to God and to Jesus? Was it your parents or was it the priests, sisters, or teachers in your parish or at your school? Was God manifested to you in the beauty of nature? Perhaps it was all of the above!
The question for us today is: How are we making Jesus’ name known to the people in our lives? Think about that for a moment. How do you strive to share Jesus’ love, compassion and generosity to the people in your life? It may be through the simple and repetitive acts of the daily or it might be through reaching out to someone who is struggling. When we strive to share Jesus’ love and care with others, we are making Jesus known to them.
Who is who makes Jesus known to you? How do they do that? Is it by their care and appreciation of who you are? Did they do something to make your day brighter? Today I invite you to be mindful of the small yet wondrous gifts of care and love the people in your life share with you. Give thanks for their goodness and love! And give thanks for the goodness and love of Jesus! (Sr Kristine Anne Harpenau)

Next Monday, Year 5 will be leading the whole school in a Prayer Service celebrating Pentecost at 8:50am in the Hall. On Friday, Year 5 will be celebrating their Liturgy at 9:30am in the Prayer Room. We extend a warm welcome to all members of our school community to join us for these celebrations.
FR JISS
Please keep Father Jiss in your prayers as he is unwell. May God speed up his recovery and comfort him during his time of illness.
PENTECOST
This weekend, the Church celebrates Pentecost, one of the most important feast days of the year that concludes the Easter season and celebrates the beginning of the Church. In the Christian tradition, Pentecost is the celebration of the person of the Holy Spirit coming upon the Apostles, Mary, and the first followers of Jesus, who were gathered together in the Upper Room. Typically, priests will wear red vestments on Pentecost, symbolic of the burning fire of God's love and the tongues of fire that descended on the apostles. St Mary’s students will be reading at Sunday’s Mass this week and we welcome all to the Church to celebrate with us.
God Bless,

On Wednesday, we took 14 singers from two choirs to participate in the Big Sing at Mother Theresa Primary School in Harrison, ACT. We were one of 7 schools that participated in the event, forming a choir of approximately 150 singers. The students first practiced songs and learnt how to sing together as one large group whilst being accompanied by piano, guitar and drummers.
After the lunch break, the mass choir performed a concert for the K-2 students at Mother Theresa as well as for the many parents who had come to watch. The choir sounded beautiful whilst singing songs such as We Are Australian (using AUSLAN as well), We Don't Talk About Bruno (from Encanto), Naughty (from Matilda) and many others. The sound of these students singing together with such enthusiasm and joy was just incredible and very heartwarming for those in the audience.
On our way home, we stopped at McDonald's in Yass for a short break where Mr Hughes thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for our little group of singers to do a 'flash mob' of the song Naughty. The students were eager (and brave) to do this and loved it every moment. They received an applause from staff and other diners for their efforts.
A big thank you to our three parent helpers who accompanied us on our adventure - Corinne Terry, Emma Harris and Amy Silk. An even bigger thank you to Mr Hughes for driving the bus and being a wonderful supporter of our choirs. We look forward to taking another group of singers to the Big Sing next year!

Going to Gardening Club is pretty sweet, but even more so when you get to harvest your bumper crop of sweet potatoes. The students were delighted to discover some massive potatoes hiding in our plot and we can’t wait to cook them up. We also harvested the last of our carrots today and cleared the remaining beds ready to plant our Winter veges next week.
Good afternoon, Parents,
Thanks for another great week in the Canteen and for the super volunteers that I had this week. We had two volunteers today to help prepare our 80+ lunch orders and it made it so much easier with extra hands. Let’s try and keep it up until the end of the term. If you would like to sign up to volunteer over the coming weeks, please follow the link below.

Special Dietary Requirements
By Monday I am hoping to add a couple new sections to the Flexischools menu, a Gluten Free Section and a Vegetarian section. I am hoping this will make it easier to find items that suit your child.
I will include in these sections preexisting menu items that are GF or Vegetarian friendly. If you are a parent of a GF or Vegetarian student feel free to reach out if there is something you might like to see on the menu.
I have just added a gluten free Vegetarian fried rice and if there is interest in any additional GF or Vegetarian items like Sausage rolls or pies I am happy to keep them in stock.
You can email me at Jennifer.vorvis@cg.catholic.edu.au
New Menu Items for Winter
As mentioned above I have just added A fried rice to the menu as well as a beef lasagne for a couple more lunch options to help warm your children up in this winter weather.
Thank you,
Jen Harden
BOOK FAIR
A huge thank you to all of our St Mary's families and friends for their very generous support of our Book Fair. It was wonderful to see so many happy smiling faces in the library - browsing and purchasing books to take home to read and enjoy. The commission from these sales will be used to purchase books and resources for our library throughout the year. We were also able to purchase many of the books that were offered for sale, so if you missed out on purchasing this year check our library shelves to borrow one of these great new titles. A BIG thank you to Mrs Donna DalMolin and Mrs Kitty Hardy for their assistance in organising and running our Book Fair.
